QUESTIONS & REFLECTIONS

KATINKA
CHAPTER: 1
There were actually so many questions and confusions that popped in my mind as I was reading the Graveyard Book. And in this blog, I will share a couple of them that intrigued me. First of all, I was very confused why the man Jack was so desperate to murder Bod. It shows he was very angry and frustrated when he didn't get the chance to kill him. What was his motive? Did he have a reason to do this and was there a purpose? Or was he simply doing this for fun? That thought stayed in my mind for a while.
There was the baby, Nobody. He was, most likely in the story, Bod. When Mr & Mrs. Owens found Bod and kept him for a while, she, Silas, Mother Slaughter, and Caius Pompeius were thinking of naming the baby. Then Mrs. Owens said that he looked like nobody but himself. "He looks like nobody but himself," said Mrs. Owens, firmly. "He looks like Nobody". Then Silas said; "Then Nobody it is. Nobody Owens". This intrigues me and also questioned me because naming a child Nobody seems to be quite weird. But I start to understand it because when Mrs. Owens says that he looks like nobody but himself seems to say that he cannot relate to anybody but himself because he was unique and also out of the ordinary. And he is. Because unlike anyone, he was raised by ghosts.
Conclusion: Overall, all the questions and confusions that came up to my mind are all very interesting because it shows that there is a lot to be investigated from the book.
